POWERED BY EDUCATION

WITHOUT

WALLS

Beyond offering an inviting space for book lovers and tea enthusiasts, our establishment has a distinctive mission. We are committed to providing valuable internships for high school students through Education without Walls, empowering them with essential skills for their future endeavors.

Through a comprehensive program run by our sister organization, our interns gain hands-on experience in various facets of a retail and service environment.  Interns may opt in for one, two, or three years.

  • Year One: Designed for high school freshmen and sophomores, interns learn general customer service and barista skills to open opportunities while in high school and college, hopefully helping them gain employment here in New Milford!  These unpaid internships not only equip students with practical skills but also earn them a full high school credit for completing 120 hours of training & work, enabling them to transition seamlessly into the workforce when they reach the age of 16.

  • Year Two: Designed for high school sophomores or juniors, interns have management training for those students with the leadership skills and drive to do more.

  • Year Three: Designed for high school juniors or seniors, this program provides entrepreneurial training for students interested in starting their own business.

By supporting our business, you are contributing to the growth and development of the future workforce, one cup of tea and book at a time.
