OUR MISSION

Welcome to our unique bookstore & tea shop, where the aroma of freshly brewed tea blends seamlessly with the allure of captivating literature.

Beyond offering an inviting space for book lovers & tea enthusiasts, our establishment holds a distinctive mission. We are committed to providing valuable internships for high school students, empowering them with essential skills for their future endeavors.

Through a comprehensive program, our interns gain hands-on experience in various facets of a retail & service environment, from managing inventory to maintaining a pristine workspace, fostering workplace etiquette, perfecting customer service, handling cash drawers, adhering to food service safety protocols, & addressing issues like sexual harassment awareness. These unpaid internships not only equip students with practical skills but also earn them a full high school credit for completing 120 hours of training & work, enabling them to transition seamlessly into the workforce when they reach the age of 16.

By supporting our business, you are contributing to the growth & development of the future workforce, one cup of tea & book at a time.

POWERED BY EWOW (EDUCATION WITHOUT WALLS)

EWoW Core Values

Individual Student Experience

Each student will have a unique experience at Education without Walls. We provide a structure for their education and within that structure, tailor their courses, schedule, extracurricular activities, college counseling, and more around the needs and interests they express.

Academic Rigor

We require each student to complete a rigorous course of study, with 25.5 credit requirements, designed to prepare them for life beyond high school.  Our teachers inspire a love of learning and maintaining high academic standards, while continually seeking to curate innovative topics and teaching methods.

Emotional Resilience

We are committed to teaching students to be emotionally intelligent and resilient adults. We incorporate life skills and functional psychology classes into our required curriculum and provide a structure for students to practice self-advocacy with their peers and their teachers.

Community Strength

We are committed to a community in which staff, students, and parents are fully engaged, recognizing that this is the most effective way in which to foster a child’s unique strengths, while also helping them to overcome their unique challenges.

Inclusion and Acceptance

We offer an emotionally safe and supportive environment that allows students to be their most authentic selves without fear of judgment. Students are encouraged to take academic risks, allowing them to learn and grow from mistakes they may make along the way.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Honeybee Books does not discriminate based on gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, socio-economic status, disability, or political standing. We believe with deep conviction that the inclusion of students and staff from all walks of life makes our program and larger community stronger.
